What is Shamanism?

Every indigenous culture has historic roots in shamanic practices. In our view, shamanic technique originates from within. The techniques we teach work with nature and the Collective Dream. They allow the student to connect with their own inner wisdom and develop personal ritual and grow deeper in their connection to the living Earth and develop deep connections with others of like intention.

We use creative activities as an act of reverence for the forest and expression of gratitude stemming from our personal encounters with the beings of the plant and animal worlds.

This alchemical healing path offers integration of Astrology, Herbology, Sound Therapy, Shamanic Journey, Druidry, Ritual, Creative Expression and Energetic Healing Modalities. Herbalism and deep connection with plants are an essential part of this process.

A Level I Reiki initiation is available at no additional charge to those who are interested.

2024 Curriculum

Taught by Regina Compernolle and Sacred Earth Arts staff.

Workshops feature time immersed in nature learning to communicate with plants through intuition, dreaming and the heart chakra. Developing a relationship with the spirits of the forest through offerings of art, poetry and other creative expression. Going deep within ourselves through shamanic drum journey to connect with our inner guides and receive first hand knowledge from deep sources within ourselves.

In Person Workshops

8 classes held April through November on the 2nd Saturday of the month (with some exceptions)

8 Monthly classes held April through November

Includes one private Herbal Astrology Reading/Lesson

Druidry Option:

This is an extension of the Forest Shamanism Apprenticeship.

8 classes held April through November on the 2nd Saturday

of the month (with some exceptions).

3:00- 5:00pm

Optional overnight camping included.

For students interested in studying Druidry, we will focus on deepening our connection animals and the animal world.

Living Classroom

This Class is held outdoors, on our 40 acre property. You'll need to dress for the weather. This class is entirely experiential. You will be required to keep a journal.

Required supplies:

Blank page journal, pencil, water, blanket, (lawn chair is acceptable if you have mobility issues, good shoes, long pants, lightweight cotton short or long sleeve shirt, sun hat, natural insect repellent, easy snacks.

Optional Supplies:

(After the first class) Frame drum, flute, binoculars, portable art materials

Camping:

You are welcome and encouraged to camp following the class or by arrangement at other times. If there are other students camping remember this is a spiritual time. (If you want to come out and party, make arrangements for another time). You need to let us know at least 48 hours ahead of time. You’ll need your own supplies. A donation for firewood is appreciated.

Sacred Art

Creativity allows the soul to speak aloud. We approach visual, poetic and performing arts as a way to honor the forest. Think of it as physical prayer from your heart to Mother Earth. Apprentices will get the chance to make creative offerings from food dishes to sculpture and poetry, in order to connect more deeply with the spirit of the forest.

Discover Inner Worlds

The Shamanic path is one that opens your eyes to the Dream World, spiritual guides, plant and animal allies, and your inner Shaman.

This path not only expands your mind but grounds you in the Earth, allowing you to root into your place as a creative child and responsible custodian of Mother Earth.

Shamanic Journey

The dream world or collective unconscious is comprised not only of the human dreamings but all of creation: plants, animals, insects, stones and more.

Discover drug-free exercises to uncover a new Earth-centered perspective. Techniques such as guided visualization, breathwork, drumming and trance meditation can allow us to connect to our inner teachers and develop our inner terrain which we may revisit whenever we like!

Meet Regina Compernolle

Sacred Earth Arts Director, Regina Compernolle, has felt a special connection to the energetic world since she was a little girl. She has studied Shamanic techniques for over 20 years.
